I just got great news ... one of my favorite artists, Jamiroquai2, is releasing a new album titled A Funk Odyssey on Monday, 3-September-2001. Oh, and he'll be at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC a week later to perform! I'm definitely going to try to get tickets for that show ...

Have you ever had something I'd like to call a "negative epiphany"? (Yes, I'm coining that term ... you read it here first.) It's when you realize that you don't have any idea about whatever it is you're trying to understand. Dave Roos can sympathize ... as he puts it, "I have never felt this dumb in my entire life. As each day passes, I understand more and more that a) I don't know anything, b) I probably never knew anything, and c) I already forgot what I was talking about." You want to know what the problem is? Well, you've discovered it ... Dave blames the Internet, of course.
Dave's theory goes something like this: the more ingenious discoveries, inventions and theories that you read about, the more you realize how little, in fact, you really know. Basically, the only thing you come to know is how little you actually know ... and that's not going to get you real far. Dave's full article3 is an amusing read, if you're not concerned about how much less smart you'll feel after reading it.

Beware of friends that get their hands on MS Paint! Of course, this definitely qualifies for "E-mail of the Day" status. The original, unadulterated photo came from my Drinkin'est Pub Crawl gallery.
By the way, Boston's Second Annual Drinkin'est Pub Crawl is happening Labor Day weekend, so contact me if you want all the info.

I stopped by Brian's BBQ earlier tonight and met a few of his friends who were in town ... one of the guys (Ken) is the frontman for this Boston-based band named Dr. Awkward4. During the party, Brian threw on some of their CDs, but I didn't really get a chance to listen. I just checked out their website, though, and pulled down a few MP3s. They sound pretty damn good, so I'm hoping to catch them live sometime ... maybe next time I'm in Boston. Take a listen for yourself and maybe you'll want to turn out for one of their shows!

Ever had one of those days where everything seems aligned against you? They suck. I got hammered with work Friday, was really disappointed to hear some stuff about a good friend and was sold out by a best friend. Beat that ... I got screwed three times in 24 hours! I was looking forward to spending this weekend with people I haven't seen much recently, but now I'm wondering why I bother to stick around CT at all (this state sucks!). Not to worry, I'll be in Boston soon enough.
After a day like that, though, you just gotta say f*ck it and hope your luck turns ...

For those of you who've been keeping an eye on my site, I'm sure you've noticed a few changes. I created a simpler splash page, tweaked the overall look of my site and also made it easier to create new themes. In fact, I'm getting ready to release a few more ... but you'll have to wait just a little longer!

Whew, it's been a busy couple of weeks! I just got back from a trip to Seattle with Megan, where we had a great time courtesy of my college roommate Paul. I recommend going on the Underground Tour5 and getting outside the city to take in some of the spectacular nature of the Pacific Northwest if you get a chance to visit.
That wraps up a whirlwind tour of the US for me, though. During the last three or four weeks I've found myself in NYC, Cincinnati, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Boston, Detroit, Seattle, and Minneapolis. I didn't get to go to Ontario like planned, but that gives me a chance to settle down for a few weeks (and keep myself to the Northeast). Then I'm off to Dewey Beach, Delaware and Washington, DC.
I'll also be organizing Boston's Second Annual Drinkin'est Pub Crawl, which is scheduled to happen Labor Day weekend. Read about how the first Drinkin'est Pub Crawl turned out if you're interested in joining us this year.
On another note, I'm pretty excited to say that Megan has decided not to return to Canada at the end of the summer! Provided she can find a job in Boston and renew her visa, that is. But at least it's possible that she won't be moving so far away now ... and that makes me a very happy guy.
