I finally did it ... I put in my notice that Friday, June 14th would be my last day on the job (three years and nine months to the day from when I started). When Tim heard the news, he e-mailed a few of us with this to say:
I believe that he is heading up to Boston to become a postman and will frequent a neighborhood bar, delighting its patrons with interesting snippets of trivia every day.
Thanks, Tim ... the Cliff Claven reference never gets old. ![]()

Yes, I'm still here ... the last two weeks have just been a little busy. In addition to the usual happenings (i.e a trip to Boston for my cousin's birthday), I've been getting ready for something big at work. So big I can't tell you about it, but I'll have more info later.

I was getting my daily dose of news on Boston.com4 the other day and came across an article about a group called Boston Blogs5. I guess it's just a bunch of people in and around Boston with logs like this one ... I checked out a few of them and some of these people are great designers. Maybe after I've been able to put a little more work into my site I'll see about joining up.

I wish I'd been at Jose McIntyre's6 in downtown Boston tonight. Dave just started bartending upstairs and says that it's pretty quiet on Monday nights, so it would be a good time for everyone to come by. We've already got "Whiskey's Wednesdays" ... so why not "McIntyre's Mondays"?

I brought my car in for routine maintenance this morning since I just broke 60,000 miles (I've had the car almost four years). It's still running fine, but the bearings in my front wheels are apparently a little worn. Replacing them will cost just shy of $400, so I was trying to find out how badly I needed to have this repair done. The mechanic (and I quote) said, "well I don't think anyone's wheels have fallen off from worn bearings." Not quite the definitive answer I was looking for, but since today's work cost more than $500 I think I'll hold off a little. Well over $300 of that bill went towards "Lab/Mechanical" ... whatever that means. Aargh, unexpected bills suck.

The creator of last week's "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" Flash animation evidently decided to try his hand at some new songs8. Will the madness every stop? (Thanks to my sister and her boyfriend for digging up this link.)

Since I mentioned Undercover Brother earlier, I thought I'd link up a few other movies that I'm looking forward to. Even though I don't get out to the theaters a lot, the best movies are usually released this time of year, so I'm sure to see at least these films.
- Ultimate X9 (May 10th)
This film will only be shown in IMAX theaters, so you can bet that all the acrobatics are going to have a major effect on audiences. - Star Wars: Attack of the Clones10 (May 16th)
Need I say more? Probably the most anticipated movie this year. - The Bourne Identity11 (June 14th)
Matt Damon as a highly-trained agent suffering from amnesia with a few goverment agencies on his trail. Based on an international best-seller. - Austin Powers in Goldmember12 (July 26th)
Having won his lawsuit, Mike Myers' film now gets to keep the name "Goldmember" ... the Bond people had tried to prevent that by suing. - Men In Black II13 (summer)
This could be even better than the first. And where can I get one of those sweet black Benzos?

Today is apparently absurd Flash animation day.
- Peanut Butter Jelly Time14
I have absolutely no idea what this all means, but I can't get the DAMN ... song ... out ... of ... my ... head! - RGB15
I wouldn't recommend this one if you're prone to seizures and such.
Changing topics completely, I went to see The Scorpion King16 with Ana last night. I hadn't planned on seeing it (as far as I was concerned, they should have named it "The Mummy II, Take Two"), but since she paid I didn't have any real objections to going. The action scenes were pretty good, but I didn't run out of the theater to call all my friends telling them to see it. One definite plus, though, was catching the trailer for the upcoming Undercover Brother17 (May 31st). If you liked Zoolander, you'll probably enjoy this movie ... I'm definitely going to see it!
