To quote Bart Simpson, "I am so smart ... S-M-R-T!" How smart are you? My IQ is apparently 140+, if you believe what eMode has to say with their fancypants, PhD-written IQ test2.

This is a perfect example of a situation where the punishment3 doesn't fit the crime. It might even be a little much for this crime4. On an unrelated note, this trailer5 makes fun of just about every one I've ever seen ... it's a little different, but now I want to see this movie!

Dave and Rachel were married in Hartford yesterday. I wasn't too sure what the city would be like, since I've never spent much time there. The ceremony and reception were held at an art gallery, though, and I was amazed to discover that the hall where we had dinner was adorned with work by everyone from Salvador Dali to Piet Mondrian to Pablo Picasso. There's nothing quite like standing mere feet from several million dollars worth of art. Anyway, the bride and groom are off to Tahiti and Bora Bora for their honeymoon tomorrow ... that's not such a bad place to get away for a few days!

The last week or two hasn't been good to my brothers and our cars. First, my youngest brother bumped someone leaving the Tweeter Center after a concert. Fortunately, it was one of those 3mph deals where nothing happens to either car. But then my middle brother was side-swiped by a car that was about to run a red light. The car those two share didn't make out so well after that encounter, though ... the bumper was pulled away from the front left corner and will need to be repaired.
To top things off, I was heading up to Salem this afternoon and some woman rear-ended me as we moved onto Rte. 1 North from Storrow Drive. She obviously wasn't paying attention and just rolled into me as we went through the tunnel to the Tobin Bridge. There's only cosmetic damage, but her license plate ate into the paint on my rear bumper and it's going to have to be repainted. You better believe she's gonna pay for it, too! I called the State Police to see if they had to report to the scene, but they said it wasn't required. That's good for me, because I was on my way to renew an expired inspection sticker and I didn't want to get a ticket for that ... the accident held me up and I didn't make it to the inspection, though.

There are a lot of things I love to do in the summer (like camping or boating), but there's nothing easier than a pool party. All you need is a bunch of friends, an ample supply of burgers and some sunny weather. With that in mind, I rounded up about fifteen of my friends yesterday for an afternoon at my parents' pool. We spent most of the day in the water, playing 500 and aqua golf. Shelley proved to be the biggest competitor (as you can see in the photo below), but everyone got in on the action ... even mom and dad. After eating until we were stuffed, a few of us moved into Boston and ended up at Hennessey's with a few Guinness. The perfect end to a perfect summer day.
