Mary and Stephen, Part Deux
Wow, these kids don't waste any time. Only a few weeks after getting engaged, Mary and Stephen have reserved a church for the wedding (St. Ignatius2 at Boston College3) and a hall for the reception (Ballroom Veronique4), as well as lined up all the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Stephen actually asked me to be his best man, which I happily accepted. The speech is going to be fun. ![]()

It's a sad day ...
So word on the street this morning is that the Abbey Group is closing Boston's venerated Littlest Bar5 in order to build 150 condos on the property. There's no word on whether they will be able to preserve any type of similar venue, but the outlook is grim:
David Epstein, president of Abbey Group, which owns the property, said the company is in the "formative stages" of figuring out how to "preserve some semblance of The Littlest Bar." Epstein said building codes would require a new venue to be more spacious.
Speaking for anyone who's attended our Drinkin'est Pub Crawl in the past, the Littlest Bar will be missed.

Mmmmm!

Those that know me, know that I love desserts. It's a weakness, for sure, but I have a raging sweet tooth that I love to indulge. (Fortunately, I also have a high metabolism!) Looks like there are a few new desserts6 for me to try around Boston, though ... some of these I've heard about or tried, but quite a few are news to me. I'd better start making reservations!
Update: The Globe's going all out with another article about Junk Food Chic7 ... I may get to try the s'mores at Tempo next week!
