There are plenty of holiday parties to attend each year, but there's one I look forward to more than any other. My cousin Meg's old roommate Dan takes over the upstairs at the Crossroads and invites everyone over. We always bring along our own sizable crowd and spend the night playing darts, poring over the jukebox selection and getting our fill of Pabst Blue Ribbon (in cheap pitchers!).
New Years is a tough holiday to plan. The expectations always run high and when things don't quite live up to them, it's easy to get disappointed. I decided to keep things simple with my friends John and Shelley this time around. We made reservations at the Rack, played some pool, made some new friends and ended up having a New Years that exceeded our expectations. Of course, our multiple trips to Vittoria in the North End for their amazing cafe mocha may have had something to do with it!
